Flag of Barnaul, Russia The flag of Barnaul is the official heraldic symbol representing the administrative center of the Altai Krai region in Russia. The design consists of three horizontal bands arranged from top to bottom: green, white, and red. The green color occupies the majority of the flag's area, covering about 65% of its surface. A golden (yellow) sun with a radiant ring appears in the center of the white band, symbolizing enlightenment and progress. The red band at the bottom represents courage and valor. The dimensions of the flag are 2:3 (length to width ratio). The adoption of this design occurred on June 7, 2016, replacing an earlier version from 1994.
